CUE THE INTRO:

I doubt you missed the glaringly bold name on the Home page, but if you did,
I'm Megan (Meg) Meehan, the mind behind the Macbook that revs with exhaustion over having to keep 3 tabs open. I happen to be an English and Theatre teacher based in Northern Virginia, but I am also an actress, an artist, and a writer. Now, I use the word "am" not because I have much to show for those things but because the effort in striving to become those things requires a certain sense of activity and "doing." This site is a means to fulfill my own personal expectations in one of those areas.

ABOUT

The idea of Prose-Colored Glasses came to me when I woke up one day and realized I had forgotten to achieve one of my childhood dreams. For some inexplicable reason, I had simply failed to become a writer. This phenomenon was, of course, completely ridiculous to the musings of my past self. However, there I was, with little to no writing done since high school and a million ideas swirling through the confines of my head before I fell asleep and indefinitely lost the moment I dozed off, impossible to remember the next day. Now, having graduated not only from high school but also from college and working as a professional English and Theatre teacher, I realized I had to keep myself accountable somehow for my creative endeavors.

So behold: Prose-Colored Glasses.

Devilishly clever, I know.

A few disclaimers:

1. This really is for me, not you, sorry.

2. I don't write action-filled, plot-packed stories.

3. If anything, my stories are merely little windows into other worlds, giving a glimpse into a moment or sifting through memories of characters I myself do not know much about.

4. I have no planned intention of developing these short stories into anything more than what they are.

5. Before these short stories, I had never perfected a single piece of prose to the point where I felt like I could share it (the difference here is that these aren't perfected, and I'm sharing them anyway).

Thanks for reading.
